About me
Sarah Tomlinson's ideal night is spent by a grand piano accompanied by a glass of red wine, a pen and a notepad. The singer-songwriter was born and raised in Toronto, brought up in both Portuguese and francophone culture. Guided by a lilting mezzo-soprano voice and signature yodel, Sarah pens thought-provoking anthems about love and self discovery. Rather than shy away from controversial issues, her studies in journalism have also expanded her songwriting to social justice issues like climate change and women's rights, empowering herself in the process. Over the past four years, she’s made waves in over 30 countries on Spotify alone. She has performed at venues like the El Mocambo, The Rivoli, The Cameron House and in various TTC subway stations as a licensed TTC musician. Her music has been featured on several playlists including Apple Music’s New Music Daily and on CBC radio. Her latest singles Echoes and Swallow were produced by Roy Hamilton, a Multi-Platinum Grammy nominated Pop/R&B music producer, songwriter and A&R executive, and funded by the Canada Arts Council. When she’s not working on her music, she is a full-time multi-platform reporter for Radio-Canada.
